Shirley A. (Smith) Brown

 Shirley A. Brown, age 69 of Salem, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017 at 3:34 am, in Baptist Health Louisville. Born August 22, 1948 in Sheffield, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Everett L. and Thelma Mae (Smothers) Daniel.  She was a 1966 graduate of Butler County High School in Kentucky.  She married April 18, 1969 to Howard Tommy Brown Jr., who survives.  
     She was a retired employee of the old Smith Cabinet Manufacturing Company, OneMain Financial and was a former employee of Porter Paints in Louisville. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and had been a resident of Salem for most of her life.  Shirley loved tending her flowers and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
     Survivors include Son: Tommy (Sherri) Brown III, Salem;   Sister: Gail (Charlie) Miller, Bloomington and her canine companion: Mitzi Marie.  She is also survived by 2 grandchildren and 12 nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents & 1 sister, Mary Smith.

Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Saturday and Noon to 2 pm Sunday at Dawalt Funeral Home.  
Funeral Service: 2:00 pm Sunday at Dawalt Funeral Home.
Burial will be Monday at 11 am in Crown Hill Cemetery.
