Willa ‘Bill’ Walker Bowling, 94, of Salem, IN., passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 14, 2019, with the heartfelt love of family and friends as far away as London, England.
Willa was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and proprietor of Green Door Antiques. She was predeceased by her best friend and husband of 69 years, Curtis ‘Happy’ Bowling, her daughter, Kathy Roy, and her granddaughter, Amy Weller Eleson. She leaves behind daughters Sharon Weller and Yvonne ‘Bunny’ Perlberg, five grandchildren, and three great grandsons. A great granddaughter will arrive in April, 2020.
Born on April 19, 1925 in Goose Rock, Kentucky, Willa was the twelfth child of William Pleasant Walker and Nancy Woods Walker. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church.
Willa was surely one of a kind; bright and clever, strong willed and with solid convictions. Her ability to accomplish what she set out to do distinguished her from so many others. Compromise was not her best quality, and she was extremely persuasive in all aspects of her life.
