Tony Burns, age 74 of Pekin, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, in the University Of Louisville Hospital.
Born February 21, 1949 in Salem, Indiana, he was the son of the late Houston and Ruby C. (Duncan) Burns.
He retired in 2007 after 30 years from Ford Motor Company in Louisville, and was former employee of GE and the Washington County Highway Department.
He served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army, had been a life resident of Washington County and was a 1968 graduate of Salem High School. He spent his spare time, as an avid trapper, hunter, fisherman, gardener and all round outdoorsman.
Survivors include: 2 Sons: Daniel and Robert Burns, of Salem; 3 Sisters: Teresa Loughran, Kalen Shields, of Salem and Kim Doane of Pekin; 6 Brothers: Larry, Jerry and Timmy Burns Sr. of Pekin and Michael, Kevin and Monte Burns of Salem; The Mother of his children: Chanie Burns and 3 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Service: 2:00 pm Friday at Dawalt Funeral Home, followed by interment in Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
Visitation: 10 am until the time of the service on Friday.
