Thomas Alan Ball, age 63 of Salem, Indiana passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 4:30 pm, in his residence.
Born October 1, 1958 in Landstuhl, West Germany, he was the son of the late James Theodore Ball and Hannalore (Kreidermacher) Ball.
Resident of Washington County since 2015, formerly of Louisville, Kentucky and Bloomington, Indiana
He served in the Armed Forces in the U.S. Army and retired in 2015 as an electrical engineer from Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center and was a co-owner of Hunter's Ridge Winery in Salem
September 5, 1981 he married Valerie Ann (Alfonso) Ball, who survives.
He received his Master's in Electrical Engineering from the University of Louisville Speed Engineering School and was a member of the IEEE Institute of Electrical Engineers and loved ball room dancing and military strategy games.
Survivors include:
Wife: Valerie Ann (Alfonso) Ball
Sister: Barbara (Louis) Gahafer of Louisville, Kentucky;
Niece: Michelle Cook of Louisville, Kentucky;
Nephew: Michael (April) Gahafer of Louisville, Kentucky;
Great Nephew: Cody Cook of Atlanta, Georgia;
Great Niece: Maylee Gahafer;
Great Niece: Carly Cook.
and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents and 1 brother, Robert Ball.
Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
