Terry Wayne Freed, age 70 of Brownstown, passed away Friday, November 6, 2020, in Methodist Hospital Indianapolis.
Born September 14, 1950 in Campbellsburg, Indiana, he was the son of the late Roy and Edna E. (Buchanan) Freed.
He retired after 35 years with GKN Sinter Metals in Salem and was a 35 year member of the First Pentecostal Church of Brownstown. He volunteered for service in the U. S. Army in 1969 and served honorably in Okinawa and Johnston Island until his discharge in 1972. He was a member of the Salem V. F. W. Post #6636, had been a resident of Brownstown for 37 years, formerly of Campbellsburg and was a 1969 graduate of West Washington High School. He graduated from Ivy Tech in Sellersburg with a degree in Industrial Maintenance in 1981. He enjoyed hiking, outdoor activities, family gatherings, classic movies and watching his grandchildren play sports.
In 1977 he married Ruth Ann (Jackson) Freed, who survives.
Also surviving are: Daughter: Crystil Dawn Freed Kellogg (Mike) of Brownstown;
2 Sons: Aaron Michael Freed of Brownstown and John Toby Freed (Katey) of Seymour;
Brother: Leroy Freed of Orleans;
Half brother: Donald McClintock of Campbellsburg
13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a half brother: Eugene McClintok.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Tuesday at Dawalt Funeral Home followed by interment in Livonia Cemetery.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Monday at the First Pentecostal Church of Brownstown and after 10 am Tuesday until the time of the service at Dawalt Funeral Home.
