Russell Lee Dickerson, age 82 of Pekin, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at his residence.
Born July 29, 1940 in Albany, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Joseph Lee and Maude Sue (Brown) Dickerson.
He managed the old Campbell's Grocery in Pekin and was the owner of the old K & R Diner. He was a member of the Pekin United Methodist Church and had been a resident of Washington County for most of his life. He attended Borden High School, was a former volunteer with the Pekin Fire Department and a former member of the Pekin Town Board.
On November 6, 1959 he married Darla Karen (Campbell) Dickerson, who passed away January 14, 2019.
Survivors include: Daughter: Jan (James) Stone of Pekin; Son: Timothy Scott Dickerson of Pekin; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: 2 Sisters: Dorothy Stearns and Pauline Centers and 1 Brother: Ken Dickerson.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Saturday at the Pekin United Methodist Church, followed by interment in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Friday at Dawalt Funeral Home in Salem and 9 am until the time of the service at the church.
