Russell Dean Bishop

Russell Dean Bishop, age 83, passed away November 5, 2021.

Russell was born in Washington County on March 24, 1938 to James Russell and Helen Laverne (Simpson) Bishop. He was a life-long resident and graduated from Pekin High School in 1956.  Russell was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Sue Wright and Mary Lou Denny, and his parents.

He worked a variety of jobs during his lifetime that included, Belknap, the Sears store in Salem, Mowing Crews, Norris Insulation, farming, Little Twirl and sales.  He was a bit of a jack-of-all-trades and built their current house himself.  He was also a Sergeant in the Indiana National Guard.

Russell is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marjene Rae (Motsinger) Bishop.  They married on September 4, 1960.  To that union was born 3 daughters that all survive him: Christina Brewer (Steven) of Salem, Myra Albertson (Eric) of Salem and Deana Moore of Livonia.  He is also survived by five grandchildren: Benjamin  Brewer (Sarah), Chelsey Miller (Shayne), Todd Albertson, Adam Brewer and Elizabeth Albertson, five great grandchildren and a brother-in-law, Larry Motsinger (Sara).  There are also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am Tuesday at Dawalt Funeral Home, followed by interment in Crown Hill Cemetery.Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Monday and 10 am until the time of the service on Tuesday.
