Phyllis June Crawford, age 82 of Salem, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022, in her residence.
Born December 5, 1939 in Salem, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late John F. Gilstrap Sr. and Irene (Ballew) Gilstrap.
She was the former owner of the old Duffy's Restaurant in New Albany, a former co-owner of the old Gilstrap's Auto Salvage and was a member of the Life Tabernacle. Phyllis loved playing bingo, going to King Fish and raising her children, grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren.
On December 26, 1978 she married John R. Crawford, who passed away November 1, 2005.
Survivors include: 3 Daughters: Bobbie Cecil (late husband Mark) of New Albany, Barbara Bolin ( Benny) of Salem and Lora (Bobby) Crawford of Salem; 5 Sons: Johnny (Jolena ) Cozart of New Albany, Mike (Betty) Cozart of Salem, Danny (Penny) Cozart of New Albany, Randy (Rikki) Cozart of Salem, Jamie (Neva) Crawford of Salem; Several grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 1 Daughter, Vicki I. Cozart and 4 Brothers: Jack, Art, Donnie and Terry Gilstrap, a son-in-law: Mark Cecil and her late husband,John Crawford and previous husband Clifford Cozart.
Funeral Service: 2:00 pm Tuesday at Dawalt Funeral Home. followed by
interment in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Visitation: 10 am to 2 pm Tuesday.
