Lula Pearl (Jeffries) Powell

Lula P. Powell, age 85 of Salem, Indiana passed away Monday, January 30, 2023, at 11:32 am, in Meadow View Health & Rehabilitation Salem, Indiana. Born January 11, 1938, in Glendale, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Emmett Forest Jeffries and Vira (Best) Jeffries.  

Lula had been a resident of Washington County for most of her life and graduated from Hardinsburg High School. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Big Springs Church Of Christ.

On December 12, 1953, she married Robert Lee Powell Sr., who passed away July 1, 2000.

Survivors include:   
Caregiver: Rachael Lee (Michael) of Pekin; 3 Daughters: Rita Logsdon of Louisville, Sandra Powell and Teresa Arnold, both of Pennsylvania; 2 brothers, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by 2 husbands, 1 son, 1 granddaughter, 1 grandson, 1 great-grandson and 4 bothers and 2 sisters.  

Visitation: 4 to 7 pm Thursday and Noon to 2 pm Friday at Dawalt Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 2:00 pm Friday at Dawalt Funeral Home with Terry Embry officiating.   Interment and committal at Blue River Baptist Cemetery near Salem.
