Lee E. Coombs

Lee E. Coombs, age 90 of Salem, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021 at the residence of his son in Salem.

Born July 29, 1931 in Salem, Indiana, he was the son of the late Robert Phillip and Anice Belle (Nichols) Coombs. 

On May 10, 1953 he married Nina Lea (Martin) Coombs, who passed away November 18, 2007  

He had been a life resident of Washington County and served during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force.   He was a member of the Canton Christian Church and was a retired employee of the old Farmers Citizens Bank in Salem after 30 years.   

Survivors include: Son: Mark (Johnetta) Coombs and Granddaughter: Megan (Zeb) Stewart, both of Salem.   

He was preceded in death by a sister, Eileen Garriott and brother, Robert Paul Coombs.  

Funeral Service: 12:00 Noon Thursday at Dawalt Funeral Home, followed by interment in Mt. Eden Cemetery near Scottsburg.  Visitation: 9 am to Noon on Thursday.
