Joan Kay Ooley, age 82 of Sellersburg, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at 4:58 am, in the St. Vincent Evansville Hospital.
Born July 26, 1939 in Pekin, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Wesley E. and Millie L. (South) Thompson.
She was a retired employee of the old Kimball Office Furniture - Borden Division in the bookkeeping department, was a former employee of the Salem High School Book Store, the old Washington County Memorial Hospital Admission Office and was an agent at the Travel Post in Salem. She was a member of Southeast Christian Church and participated in the church bible study. Joan had been a resident of Sellersburg for the past 17 years, formerly of Washington County and was a graduate of Pekin High School.
On June 29, 1957 she married Larry W. Ooley, who passed away March 4, 2003.
Survivors include: 1 Son: Patrick (Christine) Ooley of Phoenix, Arizona; 2 Daughters: Julie Brace of Salem and Melissa (Michael) Bryan of Roanoke, Virginia; 4 grandchildren: Jessica (Robert) Owens, Andrea Ratts, Corey (Lauren) Churchman and Ian Ooley; 6 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and 1 on the way.
She was preceded in death by 1 sister, Jean Price.
Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Tuesday at Dawalt Funeral Home with Mike Motsinger officiating.
Visitation: 11 am to 1 pm Tuesday.
Interment at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Borden.
