Obituary

Jessie Wayne Gibson, age 81 of Pekin, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 3:44 am, in his residence.

Born June 4, 1941 in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, he was the son of the late Lloyd E. and Nannie M. (Bledsoe) Gibson.

Jessie moved to Washington County when he was 15 years old and began working as an employee of the old Moser Tannery in New Albany for more than 30 years and was a former employee of Kimball Office Furniture.

On October 10, 1962 he married Gloria Jean (Goss) Gibson, who survives.

Also surviving are: Grandchildren: Kailee Smith and Jessie Dean Smith of Pekin;  Luke Gibson, Aaron Gibson and Victoria Gibson all of Paoli and a brother, James Lloyd Gibson of Virginia.

He was preceded in death by a son, 1 daughter, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Friday at Dawalt Funeral Home followed by interment in Mt. Washington Cemetery near Pekin.

Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Thursday and after 11 am Friday.
