Jean Catherine (Bush) Wilson

Jean Catherine Bush Wilson, a Salem Business Woman, passed from this life on November 5th 2021.

She was born on May 16, 1930 in Pekin, Indiana, the second child of Vivian and Cleon Bush Sr.

She graduated with the Salem Class of 1949 and then she married Donavan Max Wilson on Nov 11 1949, whom proceeded her in death.

Jeans Career started with The Design Firm of Hubbach Interiors in Louisville and was very proud to be trained by the owner Cornealius Hubbach.  Jean opened her own Interior Design Business, the Designers Studio, located at 206 High Street in Salem in 1969.

Jean was a successful businesswoman who became known for her expertise in interior design throughout Southern Indiana and Louisville, Kentucky.  She also taught interior design classes at Indiana University Southeast.  She was active in many community organizations in Washington County and was instrumental in founding the Friends of the Library Association.  She was a member of the Urban Beautification Committee and was a consultant and designer of the City Town Hall and Senior Citizens Center in Salem.   She worked with other citizens to help establish the Washington County Community Foundation and assisted in creating the Trust fund especially associated with the Whiskey Wilson Fund for the Humane Society.

She is survived by: 6 Sisters: June Peterson of Jeffersonville, Deanna Mosley of Salem,   
Jewell Bruner (Don) of Southport, Vicki Williams of Greenwood, Irene Corn of Sellersburg and Connie young of New Albany; 1 brother Don Bush (Sonya) of Salem
and many nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by : 5 Brothers: Guy Dean, Cleon Ray, Van, Kent and Allen Bush and her parents. 

As a result of Jean's influences to create beauty, she was able to make a lasting footprint for those of us who were privileged to be a part of her life.

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Monday at Dawalt Funeral Home, followed by entombment in Crown Hill Cemetery
Visitation: 11 am until the time of the service on Monday.
