Helen M. (Evans) Dowling

Helen M. Dowling, age 92 of Greenville, Indiana passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023, in her residence.

Born June 2, 1931 in Booneville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Karl and Mollie Grace (Cole) Evans.

She was a retired cashier at various grocery stores, including Jay C and IGA.  She was a volunteer at Scott County Memorial Hospital and participated in many senior groups and activities, especially playing cards.

She married Don Carlin Pennington, who passed away October 13, 1989.   She married Jesse C. Dowling, who passed away November 18, 2005.

Survivors include:  4 Sons: Ted (Susan) Pennington of New Salisbury, David (Rita) Pennington of Corydon, Gary (Christina) Pennington of Greenville and Brian (Amanda) Pennington of Scottsburg;  2 Daughters: Cheryl (Dale) Shadburn of Scottsburg and Saundra (David White) Pennington of Austin; 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am Monday at Dawalt Funeral Home, followed by interment in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Visitation: 2 to 8 pm Sunday and 9 am until the time of the service on Monday.
