Gary Lee Sabens, age 78 of Pekin, Indiana passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 10:40 pm, in Meadow View Health & Rehabilitation Salem, Indiana.
Born June 15, 1943 in Glasgow, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Leroy W. and Magalene M. (Pedigo) Sabens
He had been a resident of Washington County for most of his life, graduated from Salem High School Class of 1961 and was a member of the Free Gospel Church Fellowship.
On December 18, 1976 he married Joyce (Pasley) Sabens.
He served during the Vietnam War as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marines, retired from the National Guard in 1996 and retired from Kimball Office, Borden Division.
Survivors include:
Wife: Joyce (Pasley) Sabens; 2 Sons: Marc Sabens of Pekin and Justin Sabens of Campbellsburg; Daughter: Ondrea Brady of New Albany; 2 Stepsons: Jeffery Vest, of Ohio and Michael Vest, of Scottsburg; 2 Sisters: Ramona Chastain of Salem and Jo Anne Sabens of Jacksonville, Florida; 3 Brothers: Doug and Thomas Sabens of Salem and Joe Sabens of Alabama; Granddaughters: Emrie and Elizabeth Sabens; 3 step granddaughters, 2 step grandsons, great granddaughter, 13 step great grand kids and 1 step great great grandson.
He was preceded in death by 1 Brother (Jerry Sabens).

Funeral Service: 1 pm Tuesday at Dawalt Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Bower officiating.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Monday and after 11 am Tuesday.
Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
