Donnie Charles Hollen, 78, Salem, died Wed., November 27, 2019, at his home.
Born June 25, 1941, he was the son of Edward and Jewell King Hollen. He was retired from Port of Louisville Terminal and owned and operated his own construction company. He was the former lead guitar player in the Tom Allman Band. He attended Four Corners School and was a member of Canton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his daughter: Rhonda Hollen Smith; special friend: Bessie Campbell; four brothers: Kermit D. (Sandra) Hollen, Dennis E. (Libby) Hollen Sr., David N. (Donna) Hollen and Steve K. Hollen, all of Salem; six grandchildren: Jessica (Eddie) Emily, Jason (Courtney) Smith, Jenne (Josh) Voyles, Adam (Jessica) Lloyd, Brandi Lloyd, all of Salem, and Laci (Mark) Grube, Sellersburg; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his daughters: Teresa Marie Hollen Smedley and Susan Beth Hollen Lee; his son, Anthony Charles Hollen; and two sisters: Camella Smith and Janice White.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Dawalt Funeral Home with Tom Fultz officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery beside his son. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service.
