Obituary

Derek Alan Dotson, age 42 of Salem, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023, in Baptist Health Floyd New Albany.

Born April 14, 1981 in New Albany, Indiana, he was the son of Randy M. and Linda S. (Sanders) Dotson.

He was a former employee of the Niagra Water Bottling Company in Jeffersonville, was baptized at the Northside Christian Church in New Albany, had been a life resident of Washington and Clark Counties and was a 1999 graduate of Eastern High School in Pekin.

Survivors include: Father & Stepmother: Randy and Carol Dotson of Salem;  Brother: Trent Dotson of Salem;  Sister: Angela Layton of Borden;  Grandfather: Merdie Dotson of Salem and several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his mother: Linda Holt, brother: Anthony Dotson and grandparents: Vicky Dotson, Lovell and Ethel Sanders.

The services will be private and arrangements were handled by Dawalt Funeral Home.
