Delbert Shannon Cleek, age 66 of Pekin, passed away Monday, June 14, 2021, in Baptist Health Floyd New Albany.
Born March 27, 1955 in Salem, Indiana, he was the son of the late Sylvanus and Lena Bell (Thacker) Cleek.
He was a member of the New Beginnings Baptist Church, served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army and had been a resident of Washington County for most of his life.
On May 27, 1978 he married Sheena G. (Shoults) Cleek, who survives.
Also surviving are: 3 Sons: Mikel Cleek, James "Frankie" (Angie) Cleek of Louisville, Kentucky and Justin Cleek of Pekin; 2 Brothers: Charles Danny (Jane) Cleek of Salem and William Sherman (Kim) Cleek of Georgia and 3 Grandchildren: Uriah Cleek of Campbellsburg, Marlee Cleek of Salem and Zeppelin Howard of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Jerald and Robert Lee Cleek and 2 Sisters: Stella Cole and Wanda Hortenberry.
Funeral Service: 11 am Thursday at Dawalt Funeral Home, followed by interment in Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Wednesday and 10 am until the time of the service on Thursday.
