Bernice Garrett of Salem, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023, in Salem Crossing.
Born in Hamilton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Warden and Flora (Roberts) Smith.
She was a retired paralegal, owned and operated the old Nearly New Consignment and Antiques in Bowling Green, Kentucky and also owned and operated a restaurant in Madison, Indiana and was a member of Cornerstone Family Church.
Survivors include: 2 Sons: Jerry (Tearney) Miller of Las Vegas, Nevada and Aaron (MaryAnna) Garrett of Seymour; 2 Daughters: Melissa Deckard of Salem and April Miller of Bowling Green, Kentucky; 4 Brothers: Benny (Sheila) Smith of Salem, Leroy (Sandra) Smith of Bedford, Ray Smith of Salem and Mike (Beverly) Smith of Salem; 1 Sister: Veda Naugle of Scottsburg; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 3 Brothers: Kenneth, Gilbert and Cecil Smith and 2 Sisters: Fran Bowling and Sandra Graham.
Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Wednesday at Dawalt Funeral Home, followed by interment in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Visitation: 9 am until the time of the service on Wednesday.
