Barbara Ann (Parker) Hinds

Barbara Ann Hinds, age 91 of Salem, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020, in the Beehive Home at Scottsburg.

Born August 10, 1929 in Salem, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Pratt E. and Flora (Reyman) Parker.   She graduated from High School in Kansas City, Missouri.

On August 23, 1948 she married  Hubert L. Hinds, who passed away April 16, 2019.

She worked for the Salem Chamber of Commerce before moving to Frankfort, Kentucky, where she worked for the State Department of Insurance of Kentucky, until her retirement.  She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Along with her husband, Hubert, she served a mission at the Church of Jesus Christ-Latter Day Saints Atlanta Temple.  She later served in the Louisville Temple Presidency with her husband.  She loved and excelled in all homemaking skills, especially cooking and baking.  She delighted in sharing her talents and created a warm and welcoming home to all who visited.

She is survived by 2 sons: David (Janet) Hinds and Roy (Jan) Hinds, both of Salem;  9 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Lloyd and Merrill Parker and a sister, Lenore (Parker) Houghland.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am Friday at Dawalt Funeral Home followed by interment in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Visitation: 10 am until the time of the service on Friday.
