Marybea Josephine (Lorenz) Klein

Marybea Lorenz Klein, 86, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 in Woodbury, MN.
Mary was born June 2, 1931 in Madison, IN to Henry and Beatrice Lorenz. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from Madison High School in 1949. She was a member of the Junior Business and Professional Women’s Club and employed as a secretary and cashier at Volz-Haines Chevrolet after graduation.
On October 18, 1951 she married her true love, William R. Klein Sr. Shortly after, they moved to Newark, New Jersey for her husband’s job in the FBI. There they had a son, William R. Klein Jr.  They returned home to Indiana several years later where they had a son, Steven J. Klein Sr. and settled in Salem, Indiana where her husband was posted as an Indiana State Trooper.
As her sons grew she became very active in the community through the Phi Beta Psi Sorority, Hospital Auxiliary and volunteering in the Salem Community Schools with the PTA, cafeteria, band, sports and was head tutor in the reading program. She later began working at Salem Middle School as an aide in the office and substitute teacher. She also belonged to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Society and taught Sunday School. In her free time, she enjoyed golfing and playing bridge with the Teachers Bridge Club and Ladies South Eastern Golf Association.
She retired in 1991 and moved to Louisville, KY in 1993. She remained extremely active volunteering at the Kentucky Center for the Arts and St. Joseph Orphanage Sewing Guild. She loved attending church at St. Margaret Mary, St. Barnabus, and St. John Paul II Catholic Churches. She continued to enjoy her favorite pastimes, playing Bridge with friends weekly and golfing at Valley View Country Club where she was a member. She immensely enjoyed working at Macy’s Department Store until age 82. Her favorite things to do were to cook delicious meals, spend time with family and friends, and being the most wonderful grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, William R. Klein Sr, her son, William R. Klein Jr., parents, Henry and Beatrice Lorenz, and brother, Robert Lorenz Sr. She is survived by her son, Steven J. Klein Sr. (Elaine), Daughter in law, Connie Klein Young, Grandchildren, Steven J. Klein Jr. (Jen), Karah A. Resler (Dale), Kelly Klein, and Lauren E. Haan (Justin), Great grandchildren, James Dale Resler IV “Jamey”, Christian William Resler, Rease Resler, Greyson Noble Klein, Willow Rose Klein, Charles William Haan “Charlie”, and Oliver Steven Haan “Ollie”.

Visitation will be at Dawalt Funeral Home in Salem, on Sunday, March, 18, 2018 from 1-7 PM.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Salem, on Monday, March 19th, 2018 at 10:30 AM.
