Hubert L. Hinds

Hubert L. Hinds, age 96 of Salem, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019 in Salem Crossing.
Born February 26, 1923 in Canton, Indiana, he was the son of the late Roy E. and Monta (Thompson) Hinds.
He was a retired Sales Manager with Prudential Insurance Company and was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Along with his wife, he served a year and a half mission at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints Atlanta Temple, He was a member of the Presidency at the Church of Jesus Christ Louisville Temple and a New Albany Stake Patriarch.
He was a member of the Salem American Legion Cecil Grimes Post #41 and loved gardening and fishing.
On August 23, 1948 he married Barbara (Parker) Hinds, who survives.
Also surviving are: 2 Sons: David (Janet) Hinds of Salem and Roy (Jan) Hinds of Ft. Wayne; 9 grandchildren: Matt (Allery) Hinds, Ryan (Elizabeth) Hinds, Jenny (Jared) Kearschner, Brad (Kelli) Hinds, Pratt (Christy) Hinds, Ellen (Sterling) Davis, Aaron Hinds, Kaye Hinds and Reid Hinds and 21 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Raymond Hinds and 3 sisters: Margaret Frakes, Lois Miller and Waneta Simpson.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Friday at Dawalt Funeral Home
Visitation: after 10:30 am Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with interment following in Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
