George E. Zaring, age 91 of New Albany, Indiana passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 6:00 pm, in his residence.
Born March 16, 1927 in Scottsburg, Indiana, he was the son of the late Walter T. and Mary Evelyn (Nicholson) Zaring.
He was a retired truck driver, former owner of the old Lost River Salvage Company and was a member of the Living Church of God. He served in WW II
as a Seaman 2st Class in the U.S. Navy, had been a resident of Washington County for most of his life and was a member of the Little York Masonic Lodge #512 F. & A.M.
On June 15, 1946 he married Blanche M. (Fleenor) Zaring, who passed away August 20,1998.
In 2004, he married Lucille (Donnell) McCoskey-Zaring, who passed away August 1. 2018.
He is survived by a daughter, Teresa Searcy of Borden.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Thursday at Dawalt Funeral Home followed by interment in Winslow Cemetery with full military honors.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Wednesday and after 9 am Thursday.
