Farris Laverne Peacock, age 81 of Salem, passed away Monday, June 24, 2019, at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville.
Born April 3, 1938 in Scott County Indiana, he was the son of the late Herman and Emma Olive (Cass) Peacock.
He loved working, always stayed busy on the farm and knew how to make a dollar. He was a member of the New Salem First Church of God and served in the Armed Forces in the U. S. Army.
On November 10, 1961 he married Evelyn (Saylor) Peacock, who survives.
Also surviving are: 2 Daughters: Diann Phillips (Jeff) of Pekin and Beverly Marlman of Salem; Son: Rick Peacock (Angie) of Salem; 2 Sisters: Brenda Gividen of Scottsburg and Bernice Mauck of Salem; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Emery Cass, Floyd, Frederick and Feildon Peacock and 4 sisters: Betty Needler, Beulah Walker Bonnie Taylor and Belva Gardner.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Saturday at Dawalt Funeral Home followed by interment in Beech Grove Cemetery with full military honors.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Friday and 9 am until the time of the service on Saturday
