Dan joined the Dawalt Funeral Home in 1972. He is a 1970 graduate of Salem High School and a 1972 graduate of Southern Illinois University with an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science.  In 1975, he married the former Val Gater from Little York.  Val was a dental hygienist with Dr. Hedrick and Dr. Grassmeyer in Salem. They are the parents of 2 children, Nathan & Adam Kelly. 

Dan is a licensed Indiana Funeral Director, a member of the Indiana Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association and Federated Funeral Directors of America.

Dawalt Funeral Homes, Inc.

Dan passed away February 21, 2010. 

He was a licensed Funeral Director and served as President and Vice President of the Dawalt Funeral Home for almost 50 years.

Licensed Funeral Director

Patti joined Dawalt Funeral Home in 1974.  She is a 1971 graduate of Eastern High School and graduated in 1974 from the old Kentucky College of Mortuary Science in Louisville.  She married in 1973 to Danny Losson and they are the parents of 2 children, Christopher and Chelsea. 

Patti is a member of the Indiana Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association and is a Licensed Indiana Funeral Director.

Adam Kelly

Adam Kelly

Licensed Funeral Director

Adam is a 2000 graduate of Salem High School. He attended Indiana University and is a former Head Chef with the Scholar's Inn in Bloomington. He graduated on March 14, 2008 from the Mid-America College of Funeral Service with High Honors as the Salutatorian of his class. He received the Mu Sigma Alpha Award in recognition of outstanding academic proficiency presented by the National Association of Colleges of Mortuary Science and was selected by his classmates as the student "Most representative of Funeral Service" to receive The Bill Pierce Award presented by Pierce Colleges. 

Adam is a licensed Indiana Funeral Director,  a member of the Indiana Funeral Directors Association, The National Funeral Directors Association and Federated Funeral Directors of America. 

He is a past president and member of the Salem Rotary Club, a 2009 graduate and alumni of Washington County Awareness and a past president of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce.
